Cell
In the New Testament there was an intertwining of lives amongst Jesus' followers as a result of their common faith which began in small groups, extended throughout large metropolitan cities and eventually throughout the world. Cell is intended to provide the intimate small group experience Jesus' disciples lived in the 1st century.
Therefore, cell is similar to what people commonly know as small groups in many churhces but with some added benefits. In cell there is a commitment that goes beyond the brief time the group meets together on Wednesday evenings. There is a commitment of caring for one another as we walk together through life as brothers and sisters in Christ. We not only commit to praying for one another, and encouraging one another but also to support each other in whatever way is needed in accord with the type of interdependent living demonstrated in the book of Acts.Where a need in a single cell is too large, multiple cells will join together to meet the need and if necessary the whole church will become involved.
At Christian Community Church, we are
a facilities based cell church, which means we
meet weekly at our Ministry Center instead of individual homes. We meet from 7:00
- 9:00 p.m. We begin with a brief time of corporate worship. Our corporate worship is lead by our praise and worship team usually lasting 10-15 minutes. Then we break into our
cells and begin our study /
application time. Following our study /
application time we share praises and prayer
requests, encourage and pray for one another. After prayer we gather
together again for a time of joint fellowship.
Cell is our building block for
growing up our regular attendees in spiritual maturity. We believe a cell is best served
by a wide variety of gifting and spiritual maturity which encourages one another to grow
in Christ, ministry, grace, love and understanding.
Cell is also family based. Parents are encouraged to bring
their children up to grade 6. A separate ministry is provided for children. We have a youth cell for Jr. & Sr.
High
youth which meets every Sunday in the Ministry Center.
